Dr. Ing. Caminos (2001) at the Universidad de Granada (UGR) investigating numerical methods in the nondestructive identification of structural defects. Continued with experimental development at the Nondestructive Evaluation Laboratory (NDE Lab) at MIT (USA) as a Post-doctoral Fullbright scholar, developing new robust quantitative procedures with ultrasound and impact testing. Founder of the Nondestructive Evaluation Laboratory at the UGR (2003), investigating a diverse range of sectors including bioengineering applications in the removal of bone implants in collaboration with the University College, UK and structural health monitoring with advanced materials in collaboration with NASA, Airbus, Caltech and the University of Joongby, South Korea.
Received honorary fellowship at the Wessex Institute of Technology (UK) in 2005 and Juan Carlos Simó award for young investigators (Spain) in 2007. Is currently Professor at the UGR, coauthor of over 26 SCI articles and 7 books.
